Water features - Scrapes
Water features include a Pond, New Pond, Scrapes and a Winter Wetland providing perfect conditions for a wide variety of flora and fauna. These habitats are complimented by the Meadow & Grassland and Woodlland areas. (Unprecedented flooding Winter 2012/13)
There are a number of areas which collect and hold water especially during the winter months, these provide special conditions which suit flora and fauna that need a damp situation.
The scrape can dry out in a hot summer.
Scrape in Winter
Vegetation dies down and in a severe winter the scrape can be frozen for a week or more.
