This ninth year of monitoring saw 45 Dormice, one more than last season. Numbers rose from 33 in 2009 to 105 in 2011 but flooding and mild wet winters saw numbers plummet to a low of 25 in 2013, since then numbers have averaged 44 a year. Highest number per month (minimum on reserve) were 31 in 2010, and 26 in 2011, since then it has been between 12 and 19 with this year finding a highest monthly total of 14.

Box Surveys
Eight surveys were undertaken, April to November and as usual data was registered with The County Ecologist, SeWBREC, NRW and NDMP.
Early in the season saw 24 Tit nests with 46% of the boxes occupied.
